WELLINGTON.

Dear Bee, July 27. Society in Wellington is in a deplorable condition just now, owing to the severe epidemic of measles. Almost every other house is invaded, and those who are not afflicted are busily engaged in nursing their friends. There have been several severe illnesses resulting from them, and anything in the shape of amusement has not been thought of this week. The Hon. Allan Boyle is one of the latest victims, and as very few of the inmates of Government House have had them, the whole party is being kept isolated. There were several parties on the 7a ms for this week, but of course they have been effectually stopped as most of L THE INTENDING GUESTS ARE STRICKEN WITH THE MEASLES, and as the form appears to be a severe one, the attacks generally last a fortnight. Just imagine a whole week without gaiety, and during the session too. Why, it is an almost unheard-of occurrence. Even A CHAMBER CONCERT which was being arranged for by Mr Tallis Trimnell and Mr Parker, has had to be postponed in consequence of the illness of some of the instrumentalists.
