Dear Bek, June 5. We have been quite gay in Blenheim lately. First Pollard's Liliputian Opera Company played here for a week to very good houses; in fact, for *'lllo Gondoliers’ the hall was crammed, and a number of people were turned away from the doors. * Aladdin,’ *La Mascotte,’ and * Mikado ’ were all very well done. Mrs Mclntosh had AN AFTERNOON TEA party for a few of her lady friends, which was very enjoyable. The Blenheim Rowing Club held a most enjoyable DANCE ON THE QUEEN S BIRTHDAY. which was an unqualified success. Miss Seymour w’ore black velvet; Miss Pasley, soft white silk; Miss Smith, black; Miss Hathaway and Miss Muir, black and gold; Miss Clare, pink and silver; Miss Brace, white with coloured embroidery; Miss Simpson, soft white tulle; Miss Girling pink; Miss Hamilton white; Miss Gentry, back silk; Miss Webster (Pictom pink with guipure lace ; Miss Draper, white striped silk ; Miss Gordon, cream and blue satin Empire dress: Miss Leahy, heliotrope; Miss Fivcn, yellow’; Mrs Powell, white merveilleux ; Mrs McNaughton, black with trails of pink roses : Mrs C. Earp, cream satin with berths of pearl embroidery ; Mrs Frank Dodson, eau de nil striped silk; Mrs Mullen, black with coloured embroidery and green velvet sleeves: Mrs Tait, black and pink ; Mrs Macalister, brown silk ; Mrs Eibeck, black ; Messrs Snodgrass, McNaughton, Powell, Lloyd, Dodson (two), F. On Thursday Mrs Richardson gave A CHARMING LITTLE AFTERNOON TEA party at Meadow Bank, to a few friends. The afternoon w’as perfect for driving, and all spent a most enjoyable afternoon. Miss Seymour, who is staying at Meadow Bank, wore a stylish Empire gjwn of brown tweed w’ith deep belt, shoulder frills, and puffed sleeves of brown velvet; Mrs Richardson wore navy serge with embroidered vest; Miss Pitt (Nelson), looked well in sapphire blue with sleeves and guipure frills and belt of a deeper shade of velvet, becoming black hat with tips and velvet strings ; Mrs Howard wore shot silk, pretty toque of black velvet astrachan and jet with red wing, stylish and handsome deep blue cloak, with coachman’s cape, lined with shot silk and fur; Mrs C. Watts looked well in a dark gown beaver, trimmed coat and becoming hat with light ostrich feathers : Mrs Mclntosh, grey plaid gown stylishly made with black velvet puffed sleeves and Empire frills, black and pink bonnet; M’ss F. Horton, navy blue diagonal shot with gold, made with Empire belt of gold silk, and frills lined with silk, puffed sleeves, black hat with tips; Miss B. Horton, navy blue gown with long coat over yellow silk blouse, reefer hat with plaid ribbon: Mrs Holmes, black dress, becoming jet bonnet; Mrs Snodgrass, Mrs Martin. Miss xVlartin, Mrs Park, Mrs Lucas, Miss A. Pasley, navy blue ; Miss Barris, black, white marguerites in hat.
