Dear Bee, June 19. I was so sorry that in no way could I cram into the space allotted me any account of the DRESSES AT THE OPENING NIGHT OF THE SAVAGE CLUB. A few that I recall were:—Miss Dixon, all black; Mirs Mabel Phillips, black; Miss Dolly Davis, black, and scarlet velvet zouave: Mrs Moritzson, slate coloured silk; Miss Reeve, all black ; Miss Rich, black silk, with silver zouave: Miss Whistler, electric blue cr£pon. relieved by amber. Empire style; Miss Buddle, a blue and pink Empire gown : Mrs (Dr.) Dawson, black silk : Miss Cora Alexander, dove-coloured foule; Miss Nashelski, pink fancy crepon trimmed with lace : Mrs H. Keeping, black silk and scarlet faille, blouse relieved wi’h black ; Mrs Lewis, black lace dress ; Mrs Buckleton. white satin. AT THE HUNT ON SATURDAY were Mrs Bloomfield—who always looks lovely in her neat-fitting green habit and black silk hat—mounted on her pretty chestnut hunter. Rory ; Miss Dunnett was looking remarkably well riding her well-known grey Sir Roger, and wore a stylish black habit; Miss Percival was seen as of yore on the steeplechaser Tommy ; Miss McLaughlan wore a smart dark cloth habit with threequarter basque, and was seen to advantage on her fine chestnut steed Crusader, as he cleverly negotiated his walls; Miss Thomas, who looked remarkably well on Guadalquiver, wearing a stylish green cloth habit, fawn vest, three-quarter basque, was a debutante in the Pakuranga field, but shewed by her riding she was no novice: Miss Garret was riding Mona, but attempted no walls, evidently thinking the best sport was looking on.
