Dear Bee, May 12. Here as everywhere else PROGRESSIVE EUCHRE PARTIES have been all the rage for the past two months. One of the latest, given by Mrs Stanley Shaw, would have proved a great success if the evening had proved fine, the rain preventing two of the ladies turning up. However, their places were ably, if not beautifully, filled by two of the gentlemen. The game was kept going with great spirit and much merriment till a late hour. The winners proved to be Miss N. Webster and Mr Wiggins, the booby prize being awarded to Mr W. J. Shaw. Among those present were Misses Skeet, Dalziel, Mill ward (Wellington), N. Webster, Messrs Rolleston, Wiggins, Broad, Shaw (two), Webster, Webb-Bowen, and Mitchell. ANOTHER EUCHRE PARTY was given by Mrs Marshall, York Terrace, during this week and which also went off capitally, four tables being kept going. Amongst those present were Misses 1. Hamcrton, E. Hamerten, E. Fookes, N. Webster. C. Bayly. Carrie Bayly, Devenish, K. Marshall, and Messrs Rolleston.
