Dear Bee, July 25. There were a number of pretty gowns worn at the dance given by Miss Gibson and the other ladies of the Nelson Gins’ College last Friday evening. DRESSES AT THE GIRLS’ COLLEGE. Mrs Percy Adams, a gown of a deep rich yellow, made very plainly and lilting perfectly; Mrs Pitt, thick black corded silk, trimmed with jet; Mrs Booth, pretty blue satin, veiled wit h black, cobweb bee; .Airs Sclanders, yellow sit in veiled with brown t idle, sprays of roses ; Mrs De Castro, white brocaded gown; Mrs J. Harkness, white gown, pretty white cashmere cloak; Mrs Chatterton, sweet gown of rich white silk, trimmed with lace Mrs Andrew (Masterton), rich black silk relieved with red ; Mrs ThO'Uton, pretty black lace and silk. Watteau bow of old rose velvet ribbon; Mrs Bunny, black velvet, pink silk front veiled with white tulle; Mrs Macquarie. Mrs J. Wood, Mrs Broad. Mrs Langdon, pretty blue velvet; Miss Pitt, green net; Miss Jo Pitt, dark blue velvet, dark blue silk sash: Miss Levien, prettv gown of grey velvet with yellow satin ruchings and full front ; Miss Gibson, a very pretty and simple gown of soft white silk made in ihe Empire style; Miss Watson, red silk veiled with black; Miss Gribben. red nun’s veiling; Miss Higgins, becoming black lace ; Miss M. Cat ley. terra-cotta cashmere trained: Miss Heaps, simple while silk gown; Miss Wood, black lace; Miss Cuthbertson, pretty pink gown made in the Empire style ; Mi>s 1 lochfort, soft while cashmere; MjssGibbs. pretty biack n»*t I insidled with gold ; MissN.Gibbs, bright bluesilk ; Miss Broad, red brocaded gown; Miss Browning, black lace with yellow velvet forming a berthe round the low corsage, yellow silk Watteau bow ; Miss Fell, creamy muslin: Miss L. Fell, soft, dead while cashmere ; Miss Mackay, pink silk and chiffon, with Swiss boll embroidered in gold; Miss Edwards, black lace evening dress, crimson plush cloak; Miss E. Sealy, pink cashmere and silk ; Miss F. Sealy, hecoming white silk gown; Miss Ledger, soft while silk and lace; Miss Jones, heliotrope ; M iss Boor, w bile cashmere. Watteau back and train; Miss B. Atkinson, grvv silk, trained; Miss N. Jones, red silk: Miss W. Trolov c. bright red nuns’ veiling; Miss Pike, white cashmere ami brocade; Miss Simin, black lace; her sister, blue satin veiled with black net ; Miss Huddle stone, terra-cotta silk with white lace tlounces on the fiont of the skirt, large bouquet of blue gum ; Miss Barnicoat. Miss B. Rich moiul, Miss Pr shaw, Miss Cock. M iss Saxton, and Miss King. A few of the gentlemen were Judge Broad. Messrs Pitt, Fell, Booth,
Duncan. Macquarie. Garret. Fox, Jones. Heaps. Moore. James. King. Harden. \\ it her it wot. Marshal it wot. Wood. Cock. Houstin. Cat ley. Scaige. Atkinson, and many others. Mr and Mrs Hamilton had a dance the same evening for young people, so on this one occasion we elders could enjoy ourselves heirlily, knowing our young brothers and sisters were doing the same. Mrs Hamilton is so kind anil hospitable a hostess, and so. of course, her dances areal ways looked forward to bv the v ounger try with great pleasure. They need not complain of lack of dances if their elders need to sometimes, for they have already had four this winter, and this evening \!rs Dutt* is giving one for them, so they are having a real good time.
