Dear Bee, August 2. The young men connected with AU Saints’ gave a return dance to the choir, which proved most enjoyable. Mrs G Cruickshank wore a rich black silk gown : Mrs Calder also wore black silk; Miss Blamford black silk, prettily trimmed with jet: Mrs Edwards, pretty grey costume; Miss Wright, dark costume with cream vest; Miss Heap, pretty pale blue costume; Miss F. Cruickshank looked nice ’in brown; Miss Howard, neat fawn costume, the bodice finished with crimson poppies; Miss Gillett looked very pretty in white; Miss May Henderson, becoming cream flowered delaine dress • Miss A. Short, black dress relieved with daisies; Miss Kate Edmiston, pretty cream dress; Miss Nellie Edmiston looked well in a grey skirt and white silk blouse ; Miss Merritt, pretty black and white costume ; Miss Nellie Smith, stylish fawn costume. THE SOCIAL GATHERING of teachers in the Choral Hall was but moderatelv attended, but those who were present spent a pleasant and sociable evening. Mrs Hart wore a black lace gown; Mrs Benge, black, the bodice finished with pink chiffon ; Mrs Simpson, rich black satin costume; Miss Clara Berry looked pretty in crimson ; Mrs Berry, black silk trimmed with jet; Miss Darby looked pretty in cream; Miss Udy, pretty pink costume; Miss Kells, dark skirt and pink silk blouse; Miss Clara Edmiston, navy blue velveteen costume; Miss Wright, wine-coloured velveteen ; Miss Walker, crimson ; Miss Barry, stylish dark tweed gown; Mrs Carter, black relieved with pink: Miss M?Gibban, crimson costume: Miss Holloway, black gown; Miss Wilson, dark blue costume: Miss Farrell, myrtle green costume; Miss Hamilton, black; Miss Goldie, dark skirt, crimson blouse; Miss Robb, black Thursday last witnessed the assembling of the largest crowd which has ever graced the Parnell rink—in fact, there were so many tinkers that it became a matter of difficulty for one’s partner to steer a safe course through the gay and merry throng. Amongst those present were, Mrs Blair. Mrs Thorne-George, Mrs Ireland, Mrs Haines. Mrs Kenderdine. the Misses Thorne-George. Worsp, Firth, Kerr-Taylor, Rookes. Kilgour, Williamson, Binnev, Laishley. Anderson. Berry, Wilkins, Ireland, Hall, Lawford. White, Moss-Davis, Jervis, Walker, Forbes, etc. Most of the girls go up on Tuesday afternoon to practise. THE MIKADO SOCIAL CLUB held their third social on Friday, 29th. in St. George s Hall. There were fifty couples present.
