A SMALL POTATO.
It is said that Professor Newman was one day holding forth on the advantages of a vegetable diet, and urging the argument that if a man eats pork he will grow to look like a pig ; the beefeater like a bull, and so on. Whereupon somebody rather confounded him by drvly addin Mr Newman, and he who confines himself to vegetable diet will be in great danger of finally resembling a very small potato.'
