MISS ACHURCH’S ACTING.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Many of the daily papers in this colony say that the acting of Miss Janet Achurch is ‘ so perfectly natural,’ ‘ so fiee from staginess,’ that it is only like the behaviour of any lady in her own drawing-room. Every gesture of this talented lady, every movement, every facial expression has been most carefully studied ; the result is the perfection of finished acting. It is like looking at an exquisite picture, which forms a harmonious whole of perfectly correct perspective, distinct yet subdued outline, and beautifully blended colouring. Yet it is a work of art, true as it may be to nature : and such is ‘ Forget-me-not,’ etc. But it is for this very completeness of acting that we so much admire her.—Yours, etc., Playgoer.
