NEWS FROM OAMARU HOSPITAL.
The engagement is announced of Miss Gladys R. Marshall, of Oamaru Hospital, to Mr. H. W. Mason, of Dunediu.
The engagement has been announced of Miss Nan Cameron, of Oamaru Hospital, to Mr. Charles Duncan, also of Oamaru.
The construction of two new wards and a kitchen block is progressing rapidly, and this much-needed increase m accommodation will relieve the present congestion m the old wards. The large hydroelectric scheme, which is being carried on m the Upper Waitaki River, with its hundreds of workmen m temporary residences, and the inevitable accompanying cases of accident and sickness, make the speedy completion of the new block particularly desirable. The new buildings which are being made of the well-known and beautiful Oamaru stone, will have quite an imposing appearance on the hilltop, and we hope that the magnificent view which the patients will have from the new wards will help shorten some weary hours and hasten their recovery.
