Report of Canterbury Branch of the N.Z.T.N.A.
At the Annual Meeting of T.N.A. (Canterbury Branch), Miss Muir was elected President for the coming year. Miss Hood, the retiring President, had to decline to stand for re-election on account of ill-health. Much regret was felt by the members, who all realise how wholeheartedly Miss Hood has always worked for the Association and its interest, and the amount of time she so generously gave to any business connected with it. Miss Hood was not present at the meeting, having gone to Sydney m search of health, and all hope to see her back soon quite restored to her old vigour. Miss Hood has consented to be a Vice-Presi-dent. At the Annual Meeting the question of retaining the Club Room was put to the
meeting" and discussed, and on an overwhelming majority it was decided to give it up, as the expense incurred was very great, and it was too big a drain on the Association funds. This was felt to be a necessary step, though done with regret, as one room has been the scene of many pleasant gatherings. On the day previous to her departure, Miss Hood was entertained at the Club by the members of the staff. Musical items were contributed by nurses and friends. Among the guests were the Misses Nosworthy, Mesdames Halligan and Grey. A very pleasant afternoon was brought to a close by singing " Auld Lang Syne," and general good wishes to Miss Hood for a pleasant trip and renewed health.
