The Timaru Hospital Board has decided to grant the former Matron, Miss Jean Todd, a pension of £50 per annum. Our readers will remember that m our April number just a year ago the resolution of the Board regarding its appreciation of the faithful service of Miss Todd for twelve years, was published together with some details of the severance of her connection with the
Hospital. We then expressed a hope that some tangible compensation would be given her, and we are glad to know that even this small recognition has been made of the duty of the Board towards an officer.
The new Nurses' Home at the Waikato Hospital was opened recently. It is a very fine and comfortable building.
