News of Plunket Nurses

Nurse Alice Ingold was appointed Plunket Nurse at Rangiora on May 14th, Nurse Beatrice Goulstone, charge nurse of the Auckland staff, has been away on account of ill health, and Nurse Foster has been appointed temporarily m her place. Nurse Lumley has been appointed to the Auckland Plunket nursing staff. Nurse Baird-McLaughlin resigned from the Wellington Plunket Nurses' staff m June to take the position of sister at "Tressillian," the Mothercraft training centre of the Royal Society for the Welfare of Mothers and Babies. Miss Whitehead has been temporarily appointed m her place. Nurse Madill has been appointed Plunket Nurse at Taumarunui vice Nurse Garrood, who has been transferred to the Tauranga branch of the Society. Nurse Wade has been appointed Plunket Nurse m the Carterton district. Nurse Florence Peacock has been appointed Plunket Nurse m the Thames district. Nurse W. S. Thomson has been granted 12 months' leave of absence from the Dunedin Plunket Society, and Nurse Darling has been appointed temporarily.

Nurse Fleming lias resigned from the Lower Hutt branch of the Plunket Society. Nurses Mira Smith, Lowe, Hitchcock, Gorrie, Currie, Norris, Donovan, A. McLean, Gwen Stronach, Aitken, Osbornc, O'Shea, Clare and Rawlings have been doing relieving Plunket work for the last few months. Plunket Nurses Cameron, Wilson, Cunningham, McKee, Johnston and Dix returned to Karitane Hospital, Dunedin, and took the ft refresher" course during the first two weeks of July. We very much regret having to record the death of Plunket Nurse Newall. She did valuable work m the Auckland district for over six years, and will he missed by a large circle of friends, including many grateful mothers. (This death was noted m the July number of 'Kai Tiaki.') Nurse Silvia Goldsworthy lias been transferred from Tnvercargill to the staff of the Auckland Plunket Society, making the ninth nurse engaged for this branch. Nurse Tamar A. Foster has been appointed nurse-in-charge at the office of the Auckland Plunket Society,
