An Anniversary
A second re-union of the Samoan Expeditionary Force which left Wellington m August 1914, was held m Wellington on August 26th, and took the form of a smoke concert. The Sisters who accompanied this force were also invited, and felt greatly honoured m being asked to the smoke concert m comradeship with the men. Only four of the seven Sisters (Sisters T. Willis, A.R.R.C., V. Maclean, I&.C, F. Wilson, R.R.C., L. Brandon, A.RR.C.) were able to be present, and the very enthusiastic welcome accorded by the men, of whom about 150, if not more were pre-
sent, proved how sincere was the feeling of comradeship between the men and the nursing profession. A thoroughly enjoyable evening was spent, and when the Sisters (thinking it advisable to retire early) rose to leave, the men lined up with hands clasped to form an archway for them to walk through, and a Samoan farewell was sung to the clapping of hands. Before the smoke concert, the Sisters had a quiet little dinner by themselves, so altogether they had a very happy reunion.
