Resignations, Appointments, etc

Sister Beaumont, trained at Greytown Hospital and St. Helen's Christchurch, was appointed night superintendent Hamilton Hospital.

Sister Majorie Ritchie, trained at Tim-s-aru Hospital, has joined the staff of the ( Hawera Hospital as Theatre Sister.

Sister Letitia Millar has left Hawera Hospital and is doing private nursing.

Miss Jessie McLeod, late Matron of Te Waikato Sanatorium, and more recently Matron of the Pukcora Sanatorium, has at her request been transferred from that position to the Division of School Hygiene and is now acting as School Nurse in the Hawke's Bay Division, and enjoying the change from sanatorium work and responsibility.

Miss M. Little, who has been acting as temporary matron of the Malvern Maternity Home, Ashburton, has now been appointed Matron of that institution. It is intended that midwifery pupils will be trained at Malvern Home.

Miss Elsie Templeton, trained at Westport Hospital and at St. Helen's Hospital, Invercargill, has been appointed Matron of the Methven Maternity Hospital shortly to be opened. This Maternity Hospita] is also, as soon as possible, to be opened as a training school for midwives. It, as well as the Malvern Home, is under the management of the Ashburton Board.

Miss Maud Gubb, lately Home Sister at Dannevirke Hospital, has been appointed Matron of the new Cottage Hospital at Eaetihi. She has been in Auckland selecting furnishings and equipment for the hospital.

Miss Dora Giffney, lately school nurse at Dunedin, has been appointed Matron of the Whakatane Hospital.

Miss Mary Muir has resigned the Matronship of the Whakatane Hospital, and is now private nursing in Wellington.

Miss Eva . Jeffe-ry, lately School Nurse at Dunedin, has been appointed Matron at Whakatane Hospital. A new hospital is under contemplation at this town and will replace the present one which is not at all convenient, being merely adapted from the old Mission House.

Nurse North, Native Health Nurse, Whakatane, has been sent for her midwifery training at Auckland St. Helens Hospital, her place being taken by Nurse Paora.

Nurses Smart, Smith, Collins, and Fairbrother have been appointed ward sisters at the New Plymouth Hospital where they were training. They have been actingsisters for six months.

Sister Crookston, night superintendent has resigned that position, and Sister Mitchell, trained at New Plymouth, has been appointed.

Sister Lena Macdonald, trained in Glasgow, is Home Sister.

Miss Ethel Mary Hilditch has been appointed Matron of Tauranjga District Hospital in succession to Miss Bawden whose sad death is recorded in another column. Miss Hilditch was trained at the Waikato Hospital, and was night sister at New Plymouth Hospital until she went, in 1921, to assist Miss Bawden at Tauranga.

Miss Mary Boyce, trained at the Wanganui Hospital and at St. Helens Dunedin, has been appointed Matron of the Maniototo Hospital, Naseby.

. Sister Elsie Cornwall has resigned from the staff of the Christchurch Hospital. The announcement of her marriage appears elsewhere.

Sister Catherine Clark, A.R.R.C., Assistant Matron of Trentham Hospital, has been appointed to the Red Cross Scholarship at Bedford College. Sister Clark was trained at the Wellington Hospital, and was one of he first nurses to join for service during the war, and has been on continuous service since. She was mentioned in despatches, and was awarded the Royal Red Cross Second Class.
