Return of Miss Helen Inglis
Miss Inglis, matron of St. Helens, Wellington, returned m the Corinthic on March 13th, after her eight months' leave from the Health Department.. She was warmly welcomed back by the staff of St. Helens Hospital, and by the Health Department. The acting-matron (Miss Elliott) and nurses of St. Helens gave an enjoyable afternoon tea on Monday afternoon, 4th April, at which Dr. Valintine and Mrs. Valintine, Miss Maclean and Miss Bicknell were present, besides other friends of Miss Inglis and former pupils. The re-
ception was m the patients' sitting-room, which was prettily decorated for the occasion. A visit upstairs to the nursery was made after tea. Here were 21 babes, varying m age from a few hours to, m one case, 8 months. Surprise was expressed by the visitors at the peace and quiet of the nursery, for although it was near feeding-time not one baby was uplifting his voice. After the party, Miss Elliott left on her annual leave preparatory to taking up her new duties as matron of St. Helens, Wanganui.
