Military Sanatoria
It is expected that the sanatoriums for returned soldiers suffering from tubercular diseases at Cashmere Hills and Waipukurau will be opened very soon. There will be accommodation for about 250 men. The sanatoria will be under the control of a medical officer, who had received special training for the work m England ; and matrons and sisters with sanatorium experience will also be appointed. Major Aitken is to be m charge at Cashmere Hills, and Miss Trumble, A.R.R.C, who has recently returned, will be matron, with Sisters Mills, Dora Holmes and Metherell on the staff. Dr. Blackmore will be at the Waipukurau institution for about three months to inaugurate tlu? treatment, and Miss Edwards, late acting matron at Cashmere Hills, will be charge sister and take full control as matron until a matron arriving from active service is appointed. Sister Margherita King, who has had some years' experience of sanatorium work, will be on the staff.
