Auckland Branch
There is very little to record during the last quarter. The usual monthly Council meetings have been held, and a general meeting took place at the residence of the president, Mrs. Kidd, on April 26th. Business having be^n gone through, Red Cross work occupied a pleasant afternoon, tea and a walk through the lovely gardens ending the meeting. A general meeting is called for the 26th inst., the chief business being the nomination of Council members for a ballot to be taken for the ensuing year. Over 100 of our nurses are on military
duty, and nurses still continue to be drafted off to various positions, military and civil, others take their places, and so the work goes on. The matron of the Nurses' Club has been away for six weeks' leave to be with her brother who was invalided home. She has now been granted three months more. Miss Bright will continue as acting-matron during Miss Houchen's absence. Nurse Nancy Price, daily visiting nurse,, has resigned, to be married, and Mrs. Wilson has taken on the work for three months.
