State precisely the treatment you would employ in a case of post-partum haemorrhage. 3. Explain the following terms : Trendelenberg position, hydrocephalus, Waicher's position, sapraemia, cephalhaematoma, subinvolution, pyaemia, rigor. 4. What signs and symptoms would lead you to recognize that labour was obstructed ? 5. State briefly the signs and symptoms that enable you to diagnose the following conditions : hydramnios, hydatidiform mole, ectopic gestation, abortion, pregnancy, labour. 6. How do you recognize, and treat, shock occurring after delivery ? The Examiners in oral examination expressed themselves as generally well satisfied with the knowledge shown by the pupils evidencing careful preparation and good practical teaching. The Examiners for the written paper were Hot so well satisfied, and especially commented adversely on the replies of many candidates to the 2nd question, in which they gave plugging the vagina in a case of post-partum haemorrhage, without qualifying the answer by saying that the treatment should only be adopted as a very last resource, and when unable to get a doctor. Some candidates, by extreme nervousness, are quite unable to do justice either to their own efforts or to those of their teachers. We would advise candidates to not waste time in writing rough copies of their answers, but if they have time at the end, to then copy any part they wish.
