As we go to press, we read m the British Journal of Nursing of March 7th and 14th that the motion proposed by Dr Ch apple (late of Wellington) m the House of Commons for leave to bring m the Bill for the Registration of Nurses was carried, after a division asked for by Mr. Handel Booth, by the large majority of 228 votes against 83. The majority was also composed of a large number of Cabinet Ministers and important Government officials ; leading

men m all parties gave their support. The Bill was ordered to be brought m by Dr. Chappie and otheis and read for the first time with cheers. It was to be read a second time on Friday, March 13th. Our congratulations to the intrepid workers who have so far succeeded m getting this important Bill so favourably considered.
