The State Examination of Nurses

The preliminary examination m Anatomy and Physiology was held on June 2nd. There were 63 candidates, and 49 passed. The examiner, Dr. Aubin, says, "On the whole, the papers sent m, with the exception of two groups, were very satisfactory. What is a lymphatic gland, and what is its use ? Where are the principal lymphatic glands of the (a) neck, (b) arm, (c) leg situated. 5. Describe the course of the main veins of the leg. What do you understand by the anastomosis of veins ? 6. Describe the structure of a tooth. How (a) temporary, (b) permanent teeth are there, and what are their names ? Which teeth are the first to erupt m each case, and what is the date of their eruption ? 7. How is sweating produced ? What is its effect upon the temperature of the body ? 8. How may foods be classified ? What is the action of the pancreatic juice on milk, meat, and sugar respectively ? The final examination of nurses, which took place m June was very successful. Out of 45 candidates, 43 succeeded m passing the Medical and Surgical papers, and the Oral and Practical examination. The names of
