At Cardiff, Mr. Bradlaugh addressed 2,500 persons, and received a most enthusiastic greeting. A few months ago we noticed in these columns the fact that the Dunedin City Council had granted the use of their Town Hall for the Freethought Conference and now we have to mention that the Christchurch City Council have decided to allow “Ivo ” to give Freethought lectures in the Theatre j Royal on Sunday evenings, and also to allow a charge to be made at the doors. In the same paragraph of a Christchurch ! paper which mentions this, we notice that the City Council j decided to take steps to stop the Salvation Army processions j and band playing.
