The Wellington Racing Club.
“Hory” Lyon and “Jack” Maginnity, as they are familiarly known, are the secretary and treasurer respectively of the-Wellington Racing Club. They are depicted intently eyeing a choquo. Mr. Lyon has been iu secretarial harness for fifteen years, and Mr. Maginnity has “ done live years hard " as treasurer. Tho Club’s stakes have increased from XT JOO in 1880 to X 4035 in the present season of 1894-95. Wellington is a long way behind the other three big cities, Christchurch topping tho list with XI 1,800. During the last four years tho Wellington Club has spent X7OOO on improving tho course.
