Few canned fruits are more refreshing and grateful to a faded appetite than cherries. Here is a simple and excellent way to put them up: Select the cherries carefully and remove their steins. The stone may be removed or left in the fruit, as preferred. Make a sirup, allowing a half pound of sugar to a pound of cherries and just enough water to cover the sugar.
