Gift of Cottage to Southland Section

In January Mr. George M. Turner, of Half Moon Bay, Stewart Island, gave to the Southland Section a one-room cottage complete with bunks, blankets, cutley, etc., and situated near his home at Half Moon Bay.

In offering the cottage and section of land, Mr. Turner wrote: “I give this cottage and section in appreciation of the work of the Society and in particular, the untiring work of Mr. Henderson and members of the committee of the Southland Section now and in the past and in the hope that it may encourage enthusiasm in the objects of the Society and interest in Stewart Island flora and fauna.”

On behalf of the section the national executive has arranged the transfer and has expressed to Mr. Turner the Society’s grateful thanks for his generous and helpful action.
