Death of “Forest and Bird” Editor
Mr. Arthur Stewart Wickens, editor of “Forest and Bird” since 1960, died in Wellington in March at the age of 58.
A public servant, Mr. Wickens had served since 1957 in the New Zealand Forest Service, where he was technical publications officer.
Formerly copy supervisoi' in the Government Printing Office, Mr. Wickens completed that department’s style book and also instructed apprentices in English. He also taught English at Gilby’s College, and was an examiner in the same subject for the Trade Certification Board.
Mr. Wickens leaves a widow, a son and a daughter, and two grandchildren.
