Born Wellington 1904. Son of the late Hon. P. J. O’Regan, Judge of Arbitration and Compensation Courts.
Educated at St. Patrick’s College, Wellington, and Otago University.
Married Rena, daughter of late Charles and Ellen Bradshaw, Bluff, 1932. Two sons, one daughter. Graduated Otago 1928 m.b., ch.b. Three years’ postgraduate study, London. Fellow Royal College of Surgeons England 1931. Fellow Royal Australian College of Surgeons 1938. Served aboard as Surgeon to Hospital Ships “Maunganui” and “Oranje” 1945 —Major N.Z. Medical Corp. Examiner in Surgery University of New Zealand 1952-58. Surgeon Wellington Hospital 1936-60. Surgeon Home of Compassion Hospital, Wellington 1933-63. Member Branch Faculty of Medicine and Lecturer in Surgery 1950-60. Chief Medical Officer N.Z. Railways 1960-. Chairman N.Z. Citizens All Black Tour Association 1960-. Chairman N.Z. Rating on Unimproved Values Association 1945-. President N.Z. Cancer Society 1963-.
