The Fantail and the Hymn
W7ENDY WILSON, of Te Awamutu College, sends us the following story of what happened once during Assembly.
“During the singing of the last hymn a friendly little Fantail entered the hall and perching on the rafters joined in. For the whole of the assembly that friendly little bird sat there and the louder we sang the louder he sang. Most of the time that the Principal was speaking he tried to sing him down but when the Head told us ho.w privileged we were to have a native bird join in our hymn he just sat and cocked his head at us as if to impress upon us his importance”.
