Wanted the whereabouts of Matthew Smith, aged 7 27 ' years, ; sft. lin., > stout f build, fresh freckled complexion, - blue > eyes,; dark 6 hair, no hair on face, a baker,. native of Scotland ; probably engaged cooking on some station at present. Previous to' Christchurch races he ( cooked for Mr.. Devery, who had a contract for. ploughing Mr. ■ Holme’s run at u the Rakaia.
Information ; ■ is * requested ■io respecting William Morgan Harries, who arrived in the year 1851, at Nelson, New Zealand, -'.where he married, and his wife had two sons ; but shortly after 7 the * birth -of -the' second' child she died. He subsequently went to Taranaki, where he again married; there was no issue by his second wife. He deserted her about eight -or twelve years ago at Taranaki/ and went to •■.Australia., His last letter to his friends in England was dated the 3rd ; ebruary, 1860, from Nelson.
