Lady Bird, en route to Lyttelton, between the 31st July and the Ist inst., out of the 'chest of 1 Mr. _ George Marshman, junior, a black double-breas e coat, much worn ; a dark tweed shot with yellow morning coat, nearly new, bound y 1 1 black braid, had a piece of the cloth cut off the inside of the • collar, and the piace sewn up with black thread ; a white shirt, washed, but not starched or ironed, marked across the front G. Edmond Eord, age 21 years, sft. sin., slender build, black hair, a few black hairs on chin and upper lip, sallow complexion, lisps very, much, a seaman on board Eastern Monarch ship, is charged on warrant filed in Commissioner’s office,' with embezzling three railway rugs, black and red striped, part of the cargo of. the said ship, between .the 7th May and 20th July, 1874. Two rugs have been recovered, and the third was thrown overboard Samuel McKinlay, charged with the same offence, is now in custody, but Eord is still at large. • '

Charles E. Windsor, 25 years, sft. 7in., very thin huild, pale complexion, dark hair,' small thin dark whiskers, beard, and moustache, front teeth wanting in upper jaw, dressed in a seedy suit of ' black, and black stitched hat, a .lawyer’s clerk, and much addicted to drink, is charged on warrant filed in Commissioner’s office,- with obtaining the sum of £6 15s. from William Erancis Warner, by means of a valueless cheque on the Bth inst.
