Stolen.
Stolen, during the night of the 3rd instant, from James Innis, of the George and Dragon Hotel, Great South road, a colonial made saddle, well worn, pigskin seat, imitation pigskin flaps, knee pads sewed on ; cracked at the pommel, and a slight tear at the cantel; repaired at the pads and the tip of the tree. New rusty irons ; also snaffle bridle, double stitched up the cheek straps. Both articles identifiable.
Stolen, from the dwelling of George Barron, Christchurch, during the early morning of the 6th ult., a Swiss Hunting Watch, engraved case ; maker’s name Fouchon ; No 15,957; also two brass brooches, one in the form of a true lover’s knot, set with three red stones ; the other of an oval shape. All identifiable.
Stolen, on the 21st ultimo, from the till in the shop of T. Thompson and Co., Storekeepers, Rangiora, a One Pound Note, number and bank not known, and a half sovereign, neither identifiable. A Maori—Te Ohi —living at Woodend, suspected. Description — 40 years of age ; 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high ; slender build, active gait, small grey whiskers ; tattooed.
Stolen, from Fredk. Strouts, Esq., Christchurch, on the 27th February, two Dogs. Description—First, a black and tan Scotch Sheep Dog. Second, a very young tan colored Scotch Sheep Bitch, identifiable. The dogs were last seen and recognised in Barnard’s Saleyards on the day of Barlow’s Cynodrome leaving Christchurch for Kaiapoi, and it is supposed they were taken by some one belonging to the troupe.
