Information is requested respecting William Perry, a native of Tipperary, Ireland, who came to South Australia about twenty-four years ago. About the year 1852 Perry was in Sydney under the assumed name of William Barry. He subsequently returned to South Australia, and in June, 1853, left Adelaide in the steamer Phoenix, for Melbourne, where, in August of the same year, he was convicted of horse stealing, and sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment; was liberated on a ticket-of leave after serving four years of his sentence at Kilmore, Victoria, and assumed the name of William Sullivan. In 1858, Perry was in the employ of one McPherson, a blacksmith, in Kilmore. He was subsequently heard of in Broadford. Description of Perry About six feet high, brown hair and eyes, stout build.

He is about forty-seven years of age, middle stature, fair complexion, blue eyes, straight nose, light auburn hair; has a slight halt from having once broken bis leg. Galt wrote to his friends from Melbourne in 1842 ; from Hobart Town in 1847 ; from Ballaarat in 1860 ; and was last heard of at Yanco, Murrimbidgee, about three years ago. Information is requested respecting John Reilly, present age about forty, five feet seven inches high, dark complexion, hazel eyes, good teeth, usually wears beard and whiskers, a County Cavan man, farmer, passenger to Melbourne by Great Britain, January, 1863 ; last heard of at Wood’s point, about September, 1865, being at that time part owner of a claim at Wood’s Point jointly with Edward Lynch and Cooney. He returned thence to Melbourne with about £3OO. He is likely to have gone to New Zealand. 6th October, 1868.

Information is requested respecting William Lawrie or Lowrie, per Eairlie (1834), twenty-four years old on arrival, 5 feet 8| inches high, dark complexion, dark brown hair, brown eyes, eyebrows meeting’ round scar back of lower left arm, scar back of left hand, scars back of middle and little fingers of left hand. Native of Galloway, Scotland ; farm servant. Received certificate of freedom May, 1840. Information to the Inspector General of Police, Sydney.
