All persons having claims against the Police Department are requested to present them Should any unnecessary delay arise, a didiculty will be found in obtaining the amount, and all Members of the Force are required to use every means m their power to facilitate the settlement ot such accounts.

NOTICE

Dr accordance with the provisions ot the D< g Nuisance Ordinance, the owner of any dog or dogs three months old or upwards, shall on the Ist day ot January in every year register the same at any ot the Police Stations throughout the Province, m a book kept for that purpose. _ Dogs found wearing badges not issued during the current year will be destroyed, and the owners rendered liable to a penalty of ten pounds. Pee for registration ten shillings.

NOTICE

The Members of tbe Force and the Special Constables throughout the Province will in every instance file the Police Gazette for future reference. The responsible persons neglecting to comply with this order will be supplied with the numbers deficient, and charged with the extra cost.

NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC

The frequent desertion of seamen is becoming a matter of grave importance, and likely to impede the general welfare of the Province. The shipping interest is suffering severely, in consequence of some thoughtless employers, through a mistaken sympathy, or with the view of securing cheap labor, harboring those who desert from their ships. The most stringent measures will be adopted by the Police and the Special Constables throughout the Province, to apprehend deserters, and to prosecute to the fullest extent all persons harboring or giving them emyloyment; as it is their duty, when hiring labor, to ascertain that they are not at the same time infringing one of the most important laws framed for the support and well-being of the leading interests of the community.

NOTICE

The Members of the Force in command of districts will forward to this office an accurate description of any of the criminal class changing their haunts in this Province, or leaving for any of the other settlements or colonies, that communications may be conveyed, intimating such facts, to those in charge of the former, or in other places to the heads of the several Police Departments.
