The Select Committee of the House of Representatives, appointed on 30th June, 1854/ "to consider the expediency of bringing in a Bill for the prevention of Bribery at Elections,'' beg to report that thay have come to the unanimous opinion, that a Bribery Act is essentia 1 to preserve purity of Election, and would therefore recommend that a concise Bill should be immediately introduced to effect that object.
