MESSAGE No. 27.

His Excellency the Officer administering the Government forwards to ttie House of Representatives the information required in a former part of a Resolution, June, (No. 8,) requesting that the House might be furnished with a "Return of all Lands sold by the Government in the Province ot Otago since the retirement of the New Zealand Company, the S Lands ' and in wll at manner such moneys have been With reference to the latter portion of the same Resolution, requesting to be furnished with a Return "of the number of acres of Waste Lands still remaining to which the Native Title has been extinguished; also, the numberof acres selected during the same period by virtue of land orders issued by Her Majesty s Colonial Land and Emigration Commissioners and the J\ew Zealand Company respectively;" as such a Return could not be furnished without a reference to Otago, His Excellency has caused a communication to be addressed to the Commissioner of Crown Lands in that Province requiring him to supply the Government with the information necessary for its preparation as early as possible.
