Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Native Affairs Committee held its final meeting to-day (Monday, Bth October, 1928). During the session the Committee held twenty meetings, the average attendance of members at each meeting being eight. Including eight petitions brought forward from last session, the Committee had before it sixty-nine petitions ; of these fifty-one have been dealt with and reported upon, the remaining eighteen are unavoidably held over (see schedule). The Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Bill was fully considered and reported with amendments. Ten parliamentary papers were referred and duly reported on. 9th October, 1928.
