F. W. TESCHEMAKER, M.H.R.
The Post of Thursday last gives the following particulars of the death of Mr. F. W. Teschemaker, late M. H. R. for Gladstone, which, occurred in Wellington on that day:— "Mr. Teschemaker, after the prorogation of Parliament, was preparing to go southward with the rest of the members, when he was suddenly seized with an attack of inflammation of the bowels, and was obliged to remain. This attack brought on low fever, but from this latter he gradually recovered, gaining strength day Tjjt day. So much was this the case that his brother, who had come up from Timaru, and who remained with him for a week, returned borne a week ago, as all danger was deemed to have passed. The inflammation and ulceration, however, continued, and gradually grew worse within the last day or two, and last night it was found to have penetrated the bowel, and death ensued somewhat suddenly this morning. • Mr. Tescheinaker, whose age was about 44:, was elected for Gladstone ia the beginning .of the present Parliament; he was a man geuerally -iwipectedi oT kindly and pleasant manners, and the ~ tbibodiiwnt of good nature. He possessed a large number -of mends, and was a general favorite among . ail cl-88e® of liis fellow members. The bcdy will be placed in a lead coffin, and probably sent down to his family at Timaru. Mr. Teschemaker was not married."
