WILL OF THE LATE HON. W. B. RHODES.
The will of the late Hon. W. B. Rhodes, according to the Wellington Chronicle, provides that the following sums shall be paid to the bodies named:-To the churchwardens of the Parish of Epworth. Lincoln, £2OO to be divided amongst the poor ; the Bishop of Wellington, Episcopal Church, £4OO for the promotion of religious education, and also £4OO for the Diocesan Fund : the Bishop of Wellington, Roman Catholic Church. £SO for the promotkn of educationthe trustees, St. Andrew's Church, St. Johns and Wesley an Methodist Church, each £SO for the'promotion of education ; the trustees, Benevolent Society £100; the Wellington Athenaeum and Mechanics* Institute, £IOO, to be laid out in the purchase of standard works for the library, to have inscribed in each the name of the donor; to be applied in the purchase of ground for, and in the erection of a family vault in the Wellington Cemetery, and for' a marble or brass memorial tablet in the English Cathedral Church, Wellington, £SOO ; to the Governors of the Wellington College, for the founding of the Rhodes Scholarship, £SOO, the scholarship to be tenable for three years, the terms and the conditions to be at the discretion of the Governors. Legacies are left to a large number of schools. °
