DEATH OF TANIRAU.
A Native named Tanirau was accidentally killed last Thursday on the road from Porangahau to Waipukurau. The deceased was driving a horse and cart, his wife being on horseback behind. He was sitting on the shaft of the cart with one foot each side of the shaft. While in this ]>o<itiou he kicked the horse to urge it on, and the Imj-so returned the kick first on the deceased's foot, ih t was inside the shaft, and then on his stomach. The latter kick was fatal.
