WEDNESDAY'S RUNS 'The Patea Amateur Athletic 'Association opened its, season- on Wednesday; where there was a very good muster 'of competitors. Some good sport was witnessed. The following were the results: — , Boy’s 50yds: P. Quiekenden 1, D. Hermoh 2, P. Cunningham 3. Fifteen started. 'Girl’s. 50yds: 0. Karris I, J. Hill 2, B. Mills 3. Men’s 50yds: T. Partridge 1, A. Lett 2, R. Fitzwatcr 3. Six started. Men’s 75yds: A., Lett T, T. Partridge 2, R. Fitzwnler and Ray Hill 3. In a run off Hill and Fitzwatcr. dead heated again. ■- . . Hemingway, who congratulated the winners in turn, and stressed the vauie of amateur sport. The following were the winners; - Men; Ray Hill, vunnu-up D. Fisher. Boys: Don Williams, runner-up Des.
