BRITAIN AND GERMANY

PRECEDENT ESTABLISHED Thai: the recent dispute between Czechoslovakia. and Germany has resulted in a far-reaching and valuable precedent being established is shown by the following declaration that Mr. Chamberlain brought back with him from the Munich conference. The declaration is as follows:.— “We, the German Chancellor and the British Prime Minister, at a further meeting this morning, agreed .that recognition of the question of AngloGcrman relations is of the first importance for the two countries and Europe. We regard the. agreement reached last night and the Anglo-Gorman naval agreement as symbolic of the desire of our two peoples never to war with each other again. “We are agreed that the milethods of consultation shall be the methods adopted f'o deal with any other question concerning our two countries, and are determined to continue our efforts to remove possible souncles of difference and thus contribute to assuring peace in Europe.”
