Air. A. E. Washer,'of New Plymouth and formerly of Alton, left on Friday by the 'Wauganclla for Sydney, cm route to England, on a 12 months’ visit to his son, Air. 0. Alan Washer, who was a pupil of the- Now Plymouth Boys’ High School, and left New Plymouth seven years ago to join the Royal Air Force. On completing his five year commission he was employed by the Bristol Aviation Company. At present Air. Washer holds the position of second test pilot of the company and is on loan as an instructor to the Royal Air Force at Bristol, Gloucestershire. Airs. H. Palmer, accompanied by her father, Air. W. Greek, left on Saturday to take part in the school jubilee celebrations at Cheltenham. AHss Eva Parkinson, the well-known! aviatrix of Waitotara, was the recipient of many congratulations on her success at the air pageant held at New Plymouth last week-end, where she won the women’s landing competition. Aliss Parkinson was the guest of Air. and Airs. lan Keith and attended the Aero Club ball, returning to Wanganui by plane and later to Waitotara by car. The delath took place on Friday at Wanganui of Air. S. J. Hodge, britber of Air. E. R. Hodge, architect to the t Wanganui Education Board. Air. Hodge' was for a'time in the employ of the Patea Harbour Board as dredgemaster some years ago,
