SURPLUS GOLDFISH
LIBERATED IN STREAMS. ; . ' Surplus goldfish from ponds in Palmerston North, disposed of by being put in .streams, have made their way to Lake Horowhenua, and 'there increased iu thousands, according to a statement made by Captain M. Foster at last meeting of the council of the Wellington Acclimatisation ■ Society. He said the goldfish, which were Japanese carp, were displacing trout. 'Some weighed three pounds.
