HURN CUP BOWLING. WAVERLEY DEFEATS RAPANUI A Waverloy rink was again successful in a Hum Cup match on the Wavcrloy given on .Saturday, defeating Rapa mi i by 18 points to 17. Details are as follow, witli Rupanui players mentioned first: Cade, Wilkie, D.ustin, Bond 17 v. Nicholls, Popper, S. Aiken, Wicks 18. WAVERLEY A. AND P. SHOW. •At a meeting held last week the following business was transacted: Acknowledgments were received from the judges, expressing their willingness to act. | Several applications for show stands were received and dealt with. Arrangements wore made with Air. H. L. Thomas for running the tearooms. It was decided that Air. J, W. Alills have the publican’s booth this year. Air. J. J. Johnston was appointed chief marshal. At an adjourned meeting, which was held on .Saturday, it was proposed that Messrs. Jackson and Co., Farmers’ Coop. Society, and Messrs. Newton King and Co. be thanked for their donations of 50 sheep hurdles. The following new members wore elected: Alessrs. Benefield, C. Campbell, W. Paterson, IL. W. Hurley, AL Cameron, E. M. Terpan, and Dance Walker. * The question of a drover was loft in the hands of Air. J. J. Johnston. It was decided' that the committee moot for work on the -show grounds on Thursday next at 2 a.m.
