THE ‘FKEE LANCE.’
The news happenings throughout New Zealand during the week are brightly reflected-in the picture gallery of this week’s ‘ New Zealand Free Lance.’ George Bernard Shaw’s inimical manner is captured in .charming studies made upon his arrival in Auckland. The aeroplane crash in the hills near Wellington is the subject of several pictures. Scenes about the new flax factory opened at Foxton arc iutercsting and instructive. The racing at Trentham and personalities at the meeting have been snapped interestingly. Eight pictures of the Vice-regal garden party at Auckland record that event. Other pictures excellently portray the activities at the annual regatta of .Waikato Maoris at Ngaruawahia. Between arc dozens of other pictures of interest far and wide and to all sorts of people. Mr. Stuart Peterson, the 'Free Lance’ artist, has, contributed a front pag& cartoon on the disamament question, and his pen also provides entertainment in lighter vein. Social events from Auckland to the Bluff and news of New Zealanders abroad arc sketched in brightly with pictures. A. J. 'The stage and screen, the racecourse, the ring and the mat are the subject of both news and vietvs.
