'The chairman reported that'the Domain was in first class order, and the lupin in the paddocks was now cut. The natives attending the unveiling of the 'Turi Memorial had asked for the use of the training shod free of cost for two nights, and this had been granted. The night before the unveiling ceremony the natives housed in the large marquee had asked for the use of the shed in the event of the wind increasing and compelling them to leave the marquee. This request had been granted, but the shod ha’d not been required as' the wind had died down.
