PATEA DOMAIN BOARD
ORDINAR Y ME E'iTNG. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Patou Domain Board was held on Friday, Mr. E. F. Hemingway presiding. Messrs. Roberts, Jenkins, Rams bottom, Jenkins, Austin, and the secretary were also present. The Patea Croquet Club wrote stating that they accepted the board’s offer to mow the croquet lawn at the bare cost if this is satisfactory to them.
Mr. Austin moved that the charge be 3s per hour for motor mower and man.
Seconded by Mr. Ramsbottom and carried. A letter was read from the Slate Forestry Department stating that only Douglas fir and redwood could be supplied. Mr. Austin moved that 4000 Douglas fir be obtained through the commissioner of unemployment.
Seconded by Mr. Jenkins and car ried.
'The chairman reported that'the Domain was in first class order, and the lupin in the paddocks was now cut. The natives attending the unveiling of the 'Turi Memorial had asked for the use of the training shod free of cost for two nights, and this had been granted. The night before the unveiling ceremony the natives housed in the large marquee had asked for the use of the shed in the event of the wind increasing and compelling them to leave the marquee. This request had been granted, but the shod ha’d not been required as' the wind had died down.
The report was adopted. Accounts were read and passed for payment and the board rose.
