WAVERLEY GOLF CLUB
A SUCCESSFUL OPENING DAY.. The Wavcrlcy Golf Club opened its 1933 season on Saturday in beautiful weather and with a record attendance of members and visitors from the Patea Club. A mixed foursomes competition oyer nine holes was played, the winners being Mr. Bpratt and Miss O’Sullivan with the score 51-11-40. Other good j|corcs wore: Mr. 'Wither and Mrs. Lupton, 55-13-42. Mr. Muir ami Mrs. Palmer, 40-6-42. Mr. Sampson and Mrs.. Metcalfe, 55-13-42. Mr. A. Dickie and Miss Train, 54-11-43. Mr. Gordon and Miss Graham, 56-13-43. Mr. Walkinton and Miss Parsons, 61-18-43, . A delicious afternoon tea rvas served by the ladies, and was much cnjoyel The condition of the fairways and greens, which was really excellent for the time of the year, was very favourably commented on by visitors, and reflect great credit on the green committee. During the afternoon a telegram was received from Mr. Bradmore, Tauranga, wishing the club a successful season. These kind wishes coming from an ex-pillar of the club, were greatly appreciated.
