SOCIAL EVENING.
Mrs. W. Cunningham was hostess at a very delightful social and gift evening in honour of Miss Betty Fincham, on the" eve of her approaching marriage. The function Avas held in the supper room of the Town Hall, and some 50 guests assembled. A number of apologies were received from friends who were unable to bo present. A very pleasant time was spent with music, dancing, and games. The following icontributed songsc Miss Kennedy, Mr. A. Kennedy, Mr. J. Crawford, and Mr. C. Fitzgibbon, those itesns being muchi appreciated. A very dainty supper had been provided and was enjoyed by all. Mr. C. Fitzgibbon then, in a very happy speech, asked the guest of the evening to come forward and accept .the gifts with the best wdshes of those present for a very happy future. Mr. Austin Crawford suitably responded for Miss Fincham. The gifts, which made a very fine display, w T crc all just what a young bride would find most useful when commencing house-keeping in her new home. After the presentation all joined in singing ‘For They Arc Jolly Good Fellows, 1 after which ' the singing of ‘Auld Lang Syne’ brought to a close a very pleasant evening.
