MILITARY BALL.
KAKARAMLA
AN UNQUALIFIED SUCCESS. The third annual military ball of the Queen Alexandra 2nd (West Coast Mounted Rifles was held in the Kalcaramca Hall on Tuesday last, and proved an unqualified success from every viewpoint. About 150 couples were present, the sum of £25 being taken at the door. The hall was gaily desecrated with streamers, and novelty dances added to the enjoyment. Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Mrs. S. T. Herbert and Lieut. Henry, N.Z.S.C., of Hawera, and Miss N. Robins and partner of Alton. The ball opened with the grand march, led off by His Worship the Mayor of Patea (Mr. F. Rainsbottom, and his daughter (Miss R. Ramsbottom).
