DISTURBANCE AT DUNEDIN

SIX MEN BEFORE THE COURT

DEMANDED IN CUSTODY FOR ONE WEEK.

As the result of the unemployed disturbance on Monday six men were arrested in the early hours of Tuesday morning and later appeared in the Police Court at Dunedin charged with inciting lawlessness. They were remanded in custody for a week.

They were Robert John Eady, aged 2fi, William Foote (30), an Australian; Harry McDonald (32), England; Michael O’Rorkc (2S), Scotland; Arthur R Proctor (29), England; and William Ronald Winton (2(1). When bail was applied for the police stated that some of the men had been strongly advocating violence of an outrageous nature.
